Cheesy Pull Apart Onion Bread

Ingredients:
1 unsliced loaf (round is preferable) sourdough bread - mine was square.
1 pound Monterey Jack cheese, thinly sliced
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup finely diced green onion, with tops
2-3 tsp poppy seeds

Instructions:
Cut the bread lengthwise and width-wise - DO NOT cut through the bottom crust
Place on a foil-lined baking/cookie sheet
Combine melted butter, onion and poppy seeds drizzle half over bread
Insert cheese between cuts
Drizzle other half of melted butter, onion and poppy seeds over bread
Wrap in foil; place on a baking sheet
Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes
Unwrap. Bake 10 more minutes, or until cheese is melted

Now, I'm pretty adventurous and say that this recipe lends itself to a lot of imagination. On whatever kind of bread you want, stuff and drizzle with whatever you think makes a luscious combination. Meats, cheeses, oils (instead of butter), vegetables ... or, make it a breakfast or dessert dish ... cinnamon, sugar, butter or peanut butter and jelly? Have fun with it, and enjoy!
